Ennadhu Ramachandra la, Jegadrakshagan college la capitation fee vangarangala?
(OR)
Ennadhu Gandhi sethu poittara?
I find it weird when long established tradition and practices is covered as news. Ennamo!
I think Jegadrakshagan is being targetted by TOI for some reason. All will be fine and good once Jegad starts giving Ads to TOI. All is well that ends well in politics.

Hi,
You are spot on about how things work in the media. As a journalist, I am at a loss to figure out how naive (in terms of news) we in the media sometimes behave.
By the way, you have an easy sense of humour with an agreeable sense of scepticism over many things.
Keep the good work going.

Recently went to my periamma’s place in T Nagar - one of those ‘naanga dhaan oorlaiye vevaramanavanga’ types. My cousin : “Jegathratchagan appadiye divya prabandham paarkama oppipaanam”

BNB,
LOL.
Some info about Jegad in public interest…
He has two wives (officially)
First wife family controls:
Bharath university, Balaji medical college, Balaji dental college etc
Second wife controls:
Tagore Engineering college, Tagore dental college, etc.
I may have left out some of his other colleges…. nyabagam vara maatengudhu..
Next time you meet your periyamma, you can also add these about Jegad.

naanum konjam irrelevantly relevant vishayam solrEn:
Guru parambarai prabhAvam-nu oru book, which traces the history of the AzhwArs. 1910ish publication.I bravely attempted it once much to the detriment of my hairline. Comma, fullstop illAma oru average sentence mukkAl page pOgum. Adhuvum thamizh letters-la Sanskritum sErththu kalandhukatti adichiruppanga. And it was a kind of a Vaishnavism 101. Supposed to be the accessible text for lay readers !
Then I managed to get a translation from Tamil to Tamil by jegathratchagan which made life easy. I must say it was a very able ‘translation’. He was awarded some title நயவுரை வழங்கிய நம்பி or something like that !!

thx for the “weapons supply”. You might hear loud explosions from T.Nagar soon

Ah, so it’s true.
“adhu baattukka adhu…idhu baattukka idhu” - that’s the essence of not only our elite (both English and non-English educated), but even the middle class. Our ability to justify contradictions is mind-boggling. For egjampul - indha 2 wife thing - I am pretty sure both Jegath and SBhavan Annachi and the thousands of others have some explanation that includes some arbit support from scriptures, history etc

//Ah, so it’s true.//
Of course ! So you thought your cousin was ‘reeling’ ?
Jegathratchakan’s translation (thamizh urai and English) of the nAlAyiram is supposed to be pretty lucid. The latest edition (on cd) was released last year with iLayarAja chairing the function which had the usuals like vaali’s jAlrA kavidhai.

dagalti,
Thinking about it, there is no better person than this guy to have 2 wives..
About your point on consenting adults, yeah.. thats true… infact i wish he had three more wives… ellarukum innum atleast 3 engineering colege, dental college, medical college laam kattirupaar, all this oversupply in seats would’ve resulted in fees reduction…society ku nalladhu nadandhirukkum!
